Texas Hold em
Texas Hold'em poker is the most commonly played game in poker rooms today. The first two players to the left of the dealer button are required to put in their blinds. Blinds are forced bets to start the action in the game.
The dealer button is rotated clockwise after each hand so that each player takes their blinds. Each player is then dealt two cards. A round of betting follows. Three cards are then spread face up in the center of the table. This is called "The Flop."
These cards are used by everyone to make a five card hand. Another round of betting takes place. A fourth card, called "the turn," is placed next to the flop. Another round of betting takes place. The fifth and last card, called "the river," is placed next to the turn.
Players now put their best five card hand using their two hole cards, and the five community cards. One last round of betting ensues. After all bets are complete, players expose their cards, and the pot is awarded to the player (or players) with the best hand.
